Beim Goldenen Dackel is a special townhouse, born form the desire to create a place where arriving feels easy. We, Peter Hoffmann and Karin van de Walle, work with what is there, with respect for the substance and the history of the house.
Beim Goldenen Dackel is part of the Houses of Kellisch, a collectio of exceptional houses that are carefully preserved and thoughtfully reimagined.
The idea of restoring and renting houses emerged organically. From working with art, from a love of old buildings, and from the wish to create places that tell a story. Not smooth, snonymous interiors, but houses with character, patina and soul.
During the restauration process, much of the original value was consciously preserved: walls beams, doors and proportions. Everything was carefully repaired rather than changed. The interiors do not follow adesign trend, but respond to the place itself. Historic furniture, individual pieces, bespoke elements and artwork, our own as well as selected works by other artists, come together naturally.
All houses are connected by a shared attitude: respect for what exists, attention to detail, and art as part of everyday life. Places wher one does not simply stay overnight, but truly arrives.
